近日，华裔艺术家杨英（May Yang）的艺术展“远方的回音”（Echoes of Elsewhere）在美国维吉尼亚州大瀑布城 N+A 画廊（N+A Gallery）正式开幕。
Recently, Chinese American artist May Yang's exhibition "Echoes of Elsewhere" opened at N+A Gallery in Great Falls, Virginia.
本次展览由著名建筑师、室内设计师及策展人 Nada Amin Hamza 女士策划，展出杨英近年创作的数十幅绘画作品。共同展出的还有伊拉克画家艾哈迈德·阿尔卡尔希（Ahmed Alkarkhi）的部分代表作，展期向公众免费开放。
The exhibition is curated by renowned architect, interior designer, and curator Nada Amin Hamza. It features dozens of recent paintings by May Yang, alongside selected works by Iraqi painter Ahmed Alkarkhi. Admission is free.

The exhibition centers on the theme "Echoes of Elsewhere," showcasing Yang's practice that blends Eastern and Western perspectives, as well as Alkarkhi's works inspired by Middle Eastern culture. Yang primarily works in oil, reflecting the expressive spirit of traditional Chinese ink painting and the rich history of the Middle East. Curator Nada Amin Hamza designed the space to foster a cross-cultural experience through dialogue between architecture and art.
杨英（May Yang）出生于中国青海省，早年在北京完成政治与经济专业学习，后赴美发展，先后在维吉尼亚州亚历山德拉鱼雷工厂艺术中心深造油画技法，并于2005年成为纽约大都会艺术博物馆会员。其艺术生涯始于1995年，师从台湾画家颜雍宗。作为前伊拉克驻美国大使、前伊拉克常驻联合国代表萨米尔·苏迈达（Samir Sumaida‘ie）的夫人，杨英长期活跃于国际外交与文化领域，其艺术创作深受跨文化生活经历的影响。她的作品在外交官画展等相关艺术交流活动中曾多次亮相，据过往履历显示，她参与此类展览的次数约达八次，积累了深厚的跨文化展览经验。同时，杨英还是一位成功的企业家，涉足化妆品、房地产、IT、金融投资等多个领域，展现出多元跨界的人生格局。
May Yang was born in Qinghai Province, China. She studied politics and economics in Beijing before moving to the U.S., where she studied oil painting at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia. In 2005, she became a member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Her art career began in 1995 under Taiwanese painter Yan Yongzong. As the wife of Samir Sumaida‘ie, former Iraqi Ambassador to the U.S. and former Permanent Representative of Iraq to the United Nations, Yang has long been active in international diplomacy and culture. Her work is deeply influenced by her cross-cultural life. She has participated in about eight diplomat art exhibitions. Yang is also a successful entrepreneur in cosmetics, real estate, IT, and finance.

At the exhibition, Samir Sumaida‘ie explained the inspirations behind Yang's works and the cross-cultural stories embedded in them, adding a unique diplomatic and humanistic perspective.

The curator noted that the artists' unique life experiences transcend geographic and cultural boundaries, demonstrating art's value as a medium for civilizational exchange. The exhibition has included several cultural events for deeper engagement.
